The fabric is finished with mercerization, silicon and mechanical finishes (brushed, carbon, laffer) giving a soft, smooth, slightly sheeny/peachy hand and medium drape suited to shirting and light garments. Typical industry tolerances can apply (confirm at order): GSM and weight banding are usually confirmed with sample testing; width tolerances and GSM tolerances should be agreed on your order/technical sheet and verified with incoming inspection or a lab test.

Best suited for shirts and blouses — Menswear shirts (formal/casual) 95%, Mens/Unisex polo & casual shirts ~90%, Womens blouses/tops 95%, shirt-dresses and summer dresses ~85%. Also suitable for kids’ shirts/dresses (~88–90%), lightweight skirts (~70%), lightweight trousers/shorts (~40–50%) and light home items such as pillowcases (~60–75%). Not recommended for structured outerwear or heavy-duty trousers due to its lightweight poplin construction and low inherent stretch.

Performance expectations: breathability is good because it is 100% cotton and plain-woven; stretch is minimal (no elastane) — dimensional stability relies on cutting and construction. Mercerization improves dye uptake and improves wet strength and appearance; however final colorfastness and crocking depend on dye recipe and fixation. Because the fabric is not specified as sanforized, buyers should expect normal cotton shrinkage behavior unless pre-shrunk — confirm with a shrinkage test (laboratory or wash trial). Pilling risk is generally low for cotton poplin, though brushing increases surface softness and should be tested for halo/piling.
